Good friend to us and all of the irish skateboarding scene Richard Gilligan has an Exhibition coming up and heres what he had to say about it:

‘Time/line’ is an exhibition of documentary photographs about skateboarding in Ireland by Richard Gilligan. Through a mixture of portraiture, action and small everyday moments ‘Time/line’ gives an insight into life as skateboarder in Ireland from the inside out. Shot over the past 14 years, this show is a visual journey of one photographers view of life both on and off his board.

On the opening night there will also be a book launch of a limited edition publication to go with the show.
For €12 own a piece of Irish skate history (only 200 printed).

The exhibition will open Tuesday 3rd of November at PLANE/SITE Gallery on Lad Lane, Dublin 2 at 7pm.
Come along and bring your board if you are over 18 to shred shaggy's new mini-ramp in the gallery space.

Few Things

Skateparks have been a great asset to the striving Dublin skate scene but as popular as they are it somewhat kills the street aspect out of the average pushed younging skater.
So learn the tricks in the park then get the bus/car/horse/whatever to town and get craic'n. Theres loadsa places to go these days, yeah security can be a bitch but don't think thats ever stopped anyone haha.
Now if only i could take my own advice to start off with.

Scott Keegan

Scott Keegan is 15 years old from Lucan and only started skating merely over a year ago. Scott was one of those goofy kids when i first started skating lucan, i used to play games of s.k.a.t.e against him cause i knew i would win. Sounds pretty horrible but I was happy. At that time he went by the name of Lucan Kid as you never dont see the guy there. Its really the park thats made him such a good skater and now that he's been out street filming the guy has gotten so so sick. Scotts style i think is far superior over most style of skating ive seen in the year. Anything he learns he makes sure he has it on lock. Look out for this kid in the future he's gonna get his name out there!

CARD CRUSHER

Card Crusher, also known as the rude dude or Zoomjap is an old-as-the-internet-itself 4chan /a/ meme, consisting of a series of strips based on Professor Himonya (碑文谷教授 in moonspeak), a rude Professor of Linguistics from the University of Tokyo (who apparently is an expert on making people uncomfortable), who goes on Japanese TV and creates lulz by insulting various presenters. It began when a certain /a/sshole posted a YouTube link of him being interviewed.

The twist of the video happens when Professor Himonya gives the female interviewer a business card and asks her to pretend it's hers. She then presents the business card back to him; he looks at it, smiles, and then proceeds to crush it in his fist and hold it to her face, whilst maintaining a pose and goofy facial expression. In Japan, business cards are serious business, so doing this is the eleven version of raping someone else's family pet in front of them.
